I don't see CMC going anywhere. I still think we should have picked up Carlos Hyde last year. We need a tandem in the backfield. We need a run game that gives different looks. Even though CMC was stellar last season, he paid the price for it. We MUST have a dependable running game. Trading CMC doesn't make sense to me.

CMc.....  Three years into his rookie contract.. Getting better every year. Could VERY easily have MULTIPLE 1000/1000 years.!!  WHY would you want to trade him.??  To get what.?? Draft picks.?? REALLY?? Trade a super-performing known quantity for an unknown.?? Trade a #1 dominant RB with time remaining on his rookie contract....for what.??

I don't know whose idea that was, but he/she should have their head examined.!!  Should know better.....

Trade McCaffrey..??? Maybe after five years if performance falls way off or contract gets too expensive.

This is a stupid thing to be talking about......  SMH.. Wtfsign

Let’s be perfectly clear, I never used the “want” wheni it comes to trading CMC. It would be a good business decision, IMO, based on the fact that we have bike for only two more years. Two more years when we don’t have a chance in hades to even be competitive much less a contender. So from a business position you trade him while he has his absolute most value to your organization. I honestly feel this is the worse team in the league going into next season. The only way to repair it into a well oil machine will be primarily through the draft and it will take time. Peace out.

Hey First....  Didn't know it was your post, nothing personal about it.

The fact remains...... A 'TRADE" involves moving a player in an attempt to get better... Right.?? So no matter how you want to spin it, you're saying we 'need' to trade him because his "value" is at it's highest point.  So, please tell me how trading CMc would bring increased value to the Panthers....???  I really want to know how we would gain by doing this...???  Who could we get in a trade to benefit us more than McCaffrey.???  Trade him for draft picks... Is that what you're saying.??  So we trade away a magnificent talent EARLY in his career to gain a couple of picks of UNKNOWN value.??  So trade a MVP/OPOY type of once in a decade talent so we could draft a couple of unknowns...???  Really.???

Sorry buddy, no matter how you want to spin it...... NOTHING about that makes sense.....

RE: OLSEN.... Now FORMER Panther - Firstchance - 02-07-2020

My point is and then I will totally leave it alone.

We have CMC for two more years. Two years that we will be totally noncompetitive. In three years, there in absolutely no ways he stays...but in the trade that i elaborated to...we would have 5 guys at that time. It's basically just looking to the future because again I don't feel this team can compete for another 2 to 3 years and certainly wont be contending for 5 to 6.

Now does trading him make us better now? NO, absolutely not. But now doesn't matter as there is no hope with or without him. ( not to mention I hate seeing a kid of his talent not be able to play on a competitive team, but that is personal, not business )

We have CMC for two more years. Really??  So you think CMc will not get a new contract.?? Opinion, based on what.?? Two years that we will be totally noncompetitive. Hmm.. This is difficult to predict this early. Depends on free agency and how Tepper, Hurney, and Rhule move forward. Unknown at this time. In three years, there in absolutely no ways he stays I'm lost here---Your statement is predicated on what.?? RBs are NOT "cap hogs", at least up till now they haven't been. Why would he not re-sign?? ..but in the trade that i elaborated to...we would have 5 guys at that time. FIRST!!  STOP IT!! This is basic arithmetic.. We will NOT have "5 Guys"!!! The ONLY ones attributable to CMc would be as a direct result of the trade.!! Unless we receive 5 picks for him we won't have "5 guys".!!!!! Every year there are 7 rounds plus UDFAs. We get those players anyway. NOTHING to do with the trade.!! PLUS, even if we had 15 picks, what would it matter.?? Unless they were all in the top 3-4 rounds, what is their value.?? We can roster a total of 53. All those extra picks mean NOTHING if they aren't ready to play in the NFL. They'll just be cut..... It's basically just looking to the future because again I don't feel this team can compete for another 2 to 3 years and certainly wont be contending for 5 to 6. --OK. Maybe so. Maybe no. So much depends on Tepper, Hurney, and Rhule as I said before. With the right mindset and FA looming large---- WHO KNOWS.??

Now does trading him make us better now? NO, absolutely not. But now doesn't matter as there is no hope with or without him. I don't believe this. There is always hope. ( not to mention I hate seeing a kid of his talent not be able to play on a competitive team, but that is personal, not business ). Thinking about it.... I agree with the sentiment. However consider all 32 teams. There is a LOT of talent out there on NON-competitive teams. They play hard and do their best every year. Not every good player in the league can play on a competitive team.  Just the way it is.

OK...

Only problem with this is there are an untold number of subjective statements here that are commonly known within the communication field as "logic leaps.".
See my comments above in RED....
Saying something subjective, then holding it out as fact, then building an argument around it----- that is know as a "logic leap" and "circular reasoning". You have to have facts and objective, measurable statements and outcomes to support an argument.

Right you are.!!!
Apparently he is a natural in the booth.  IF/WHEN he decides to leave the playing field, he should have no problems finding something to do.
