Eagle cam - Ladypanther - 02-28-2024

I have been watching this Eagles nest for years.  It is in Johnson City TN and run by ETSU.  There are 2 new babies having just hatched in the past 2-4 days.  It is amazing to watch the parents raise these eaglets and fun to watch them grow.  There are 2 views..the 1st is the side view...in the comments there are moda which give useful information and time stamps when interesting thigs happen. (like feedings)
2nd is the overhead view.

If you look in the comments section...they will give timestamps for things like feedings...and you can scroll back to that time to view.  2 good looking eaglets so far. It is amazing how one of the eagles can go out and bring back a fish for whoever is setting on the nest and the babies.  Whichever parent feeds them knows to give very small bites to the babies...the size of the bites increases as the eaglets grow. The instincts these parents have to sit on the nest, turn the eggs (every 30 min) and then take care of the babies is just amazing.

The feedings are coming more often now.  The eaglets who are snuggled right now are starting to pop their little bobbleheads out as it warms up.

I watch these guys every year.  Or, at least I think it's the same ones.!!

I love the little ones. One seems hungry, the other one not so much. Are there only two hatchlings.??

Thanks so much, LP.!!

Yea...just two.  The way that nest has been organized this year it will get pretty crowded as they get bigger...and they grow fast!

One eaglet had about a 3 day head start on the other, so #2 is behind a bit.  Will catch up before too long.

Seems like I read somewhere (maybe in the comments..??) that mom or dad had squashed, broken, one of the eggs. Nor for sure, but I think that's right...

Not in this nest. Have been watching it for a long time and have not see that.

Hmmm... Maybe it was a different nest or a different pair.  Pretty sure I read it right, but might not have "understood" what i was reading.  Just went to the on-line site for the biologists at ETSU. There's quite a history there for two different nesting sites. Part of the history says there was a 'broken' egg at one nest (sometime in the past..??) and the female cleaned it up (ate the embryo..). Maybe that was what the comment was about..???

OR... I could be completely wrong.  Lots of information out there for certain...

It might have been their nest in Bluff City.  I have just followed the Johnson City nest.
