PANTHERS CUT EDGE K'LAVON CHAISSON - Hobbit99 - 09-03-2024 BREAKING NEWS... With four days remaining before their Week 1 game against the NOLA Saints, the Panthers have decided to cut bait on K'Lavon Chaisson. There is an approximately 500K signing bonus due him that will show for now as "Dead Cap" money for the Panthers. It appears as if the cut will save the Panthers 3+ M in salary and multiple "roster" bonuses as well. (At least, that's what I understand..). The move leaves a giant elephant in the room to be discussed. What EXACTLY are the Panthers going to do for an Edge guy not named Jadeveon Clowney. The answer is yet to be determined. Quote:CHARLOTTE — The Panthers have released veteran pass rusher K'Lavon Chaisson the team announced on Tuesday. Chaisson had joined the Panthers this past spring as a free agent. RE: PANTHERS CUT EDGE K'LAVON CHAISSON - Hobbit99 - 09-03-2024 With stories like this, there is the ever-oresent reality that the real "truth" will never be known. I know there must be a reason for a development of this size and timing. Often times the "back-story" is too juicy to print. It might cause unnecessary embarrassment to players or personnel. Also, it's possible that Chaisson just decided it was time to "hang 'em up". Given his lack of effective play over the first four years of his career, it would seem as if he might have given up..... This is one of those times when you would like to be a fly-on-the-wall. |
