TJ PARKER, EDGE, Clemson - Mocked to Panthers - PantherFan007 - 02-02-2026
I have seen this kid mocked to the Panthers at #19 in a couple of Mock Drafts. I like what I see in him (other than that danged orange Clemson color lol)
This guy (#3) is a very talented Edge Rusher, and someone who could come in and start immediately with the Panthers. After watching some of his highlights, I like what I see more than I liked Brian Burns.

We need another ‘Edge’ guy, but just like ILB, what happens in FA will set the tone for the draft.

Sorry man, I copied the wrong video link. It has been updated to 2025 Highlights.
Personally, I'm not all that thrilled about the upcoming Free Agency this year. If we are going to rebuild, then rebuild. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it would hurt to add a veteran for a one year deal, but could you imagine this kid opposite Nic Scourton and our bit DTs up the middle?

Just a little ‘pushback’ here — you know, keeping it real.
AFAIC - FA is ALWAYS important. There’s a reason for that. The nature of NFL contracts sets us up EVERY YEAR for potential disaster and disappointment. We lose veterans every year. We cannot put a team on the field every year without managing our veteran core. Picking up a bunch of rookies doesn’t solve the problem. Everyone knows (I know you can look this up..) that VERY FEW rookies contribute ‘meaningfully’ in their first year. A lot of them take till year 3 (ex. BY). And a bunch of rookies NEVER get a second contract. They just ‘flunk out’ and end up taking up space on a PS somewhere or going to a “sub” league.
So… if you lose 5,6,7 (or MORE) veterans every year — all those 1-2 year contract deals— where do you find replacements that are ready to play??? Free Agency is an imperative. Without a veteran core, you have nothing…. And it would only get worse the following year - and the next.
So sure, rookies are important. We absolutely have to have them. Replacements for retirees and seriously injured, AND for the constant turnover of other rookies that DON’T/CAN’T make it. But let’s not kid ourselves, a team relying on a roster full of rookies is a disaster waiting to happen.
