Wowsers..... What a DRAFT so far - PantherFan007 - 05-01-2021

Scott Fitterer has officially blown my mind.  Nothing at all like Hurney.  This guy "gets it".

As of now, Sam Darnold has cost us nothing.  By the trades we made last night, we got back ALL of our draft picks we gave up for Darnold, PLUS two more picks.

And not only that, these guys he has drafted are QUALITY players.

South Carolina Cornerback Jaycee Horn was listed on many charts as the top defensive back in this draft.

LSU Wide Receiver Terrace Marshall might be the steal of the draft. He was project by some as a late first round talent.

BYI Tackle Brady Chistensen protected QB Zach Wilson's blind side so that he could be as successful as he was.

Notre Dame TE Tommy Tremble plays like an angry linebacker but on Offense.  He is a good receiver, but can certainly be our way around "Illegal Blocker Downfield" penalties lol Big Grin

Like all the players pick but again, the trade wizard could have traded down just a few spots and picked up another pick or two in my opinion. Anyways Horn should be a good one and Mr Jackson will be playing his last year in Carolina. Wallace, if he can stay healthy, is a wonderful selection, loved the Christensen pick, a little small but very athletic, not sure he can start year one and I expect that from a third rounder but this guy will play ten years in the NFL. Now Tremble., I am so excited about this pick. Having seen him play several times, he really doesn’t have great hands, even good hands, just okay hands BUT he will be the best blocker on the field whenever he finds it, period, end of subject. Brings energy to every okay. More of an H-back in my opinion. Get him some glue and watch him rise.

Hopefully Jamar Johnson will still be around, Michael Carter who fits the McCafe mold, Jabril Cox and remember this name James Hudson, if he and Tremble are on the field at the same time the defense better watch their ribs.

And I might add, we now have our own BRADY!

Could Shi Smith be a Steve Smith?

Wow, 11 picks. Our GM came to PLAY!

Excellent draft for a rebuilding team, quantity over quality, even though there were some nice pieces. Backend of the draft was fairly discouraging, in my opinion. Another lack luster year, just calling it what I expect it to be, and then we can become competitive and by year three be in the playoff hunt for what I hope will be many consecutive years.

All of the trades must've been a nightmare for the guy assigned to go to commercial at each of our picks.

It was a great draft in my humble opinion.

And yes, Shi Smith (in case you have never seen him play.... take it from a Gamecocks fan) the kid is awesome!
