Draft Height Weight Speed
Thomas Davis 6'1 235 4.6
Nick Emmanwori 6'3 220 4.3
Not saying it's going to happen, but just saying he's not all "that small" for a linebacker, either. ;) And he will put on muscle and pounds once he gets to the NFL. But you can't teach raw talent and natural instinct like this kid has.
As I said, I think he could do it. No argument from me. But your numbers tell my story. Emmanwori is 2 inches taller and 15-20 lbs lighter, and FASTER. Sounds like a PERFECT Strong Safety to me.!!
As a matter of interest. --- The average NFL ILB is about 245 lbs. If Emmanwori added about 25-30 lbs and didn't lose much speed, He would make a boomin' LB.!! His speed and height give him a definite advantage in coverage. But as he is, I fear he would end up like Jeremy Chinn as a LB ... eventually switching to Safety anyway. Better for him to start (and stay) there. - IMHO..!!!
But, I'll take him at either position. He would be a genuine stud in the run game.
