Now we can start thinking about the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft, our needs, player profiles, etc.

Well, …. I guess it’s time to start with all of the foolish hoopla from all of the “know-it-all” pontificators.  I wish we could skip all of the crap and just look at things realistically. All of this ‘wishing’ and ‘demanding’ and BS needs to stop. I’ll never forget what my Grandpa told me when I was talking stupid. Something like, “Boy, you’ll learn - “Wish in one hand and shit in the other…. see which one fills up faster.””

My Grandpa was a smart man.

Well, brother.  I can shut down this forum if that'll make you feel better about things.  It'll save me time, money, and headache talking about football all the time.

Nope -- Not necessary.

No one here has ever worried about ME feeling better. This has always been an open and frank discussion area where we could state our opinions as long as there was nothing said that was derogatory or "personal".

My comments up there ^^^ were explicitly aimed at "pontificators" and personalities who fill the airwaves with crap with nothing 'in fact' to back up what they say. Take a look at the "social" scene. The digital airwaves are filled to overflowing with commentary saying stupid stuff like "Panther fans "demand" this or that..."; "Panthers MUST fire ..."; Panthers GM "fails"..; "Panthers MUST draft ...; "Panthers will suffer through another year with DC...; ----- On, and on, and on...... Never ending.

Is it foolish for me to want less 'crap' and more substance.??  Nothing I said has any bearing on this forum or it's members. I've been religiously careful about what I say and how I say it. I have said nothing here that reflects badly on you or this forum. I am at a loss to understand why I received this acrimonious and adversarial comment.

Well, man, here's the real deal.  Free Agency starts in March and doesn't officially end until July 22nd, 2026, Per NFL Operations:

Quote:The 2026 NFL free agency signing period begins on March 11, 2026, at 4 p.m. ET

. While the initial frenzied, top-tier free agent signing period lasts for several weeks, the overall free agency window for unrestricted free agents with tendered contracts typically extends until July 22, 2026, at 4 p.m. ET.

Key 2026 Free Agency Details:
  • Legal Negotiating Window: Opens March 9, 2026, at 9 a.m. PT (12 p.m. ET), allowing teams to contact agents of players who will become unrestricted free agents.
  • Official Start (League Year): Starts March 11, 2026, at 4 p.m. ET, when trades and contract signings can formally occur.
  • Key Deadlines: The deadline for restricted free agents to sign offer sheets is April 17, 2026.
  • End of Period: Unrestricted free agents who received a tender must sign by July 22, 2026, or their exclusive negotiating rights return to their original club.

So what say you?  Should we wait until July to discuss the 2026 NFL Draft?  Just asking an honest question.   The 2026 NFL Draft will take place April 23–25, 2026

I mean, lol, you don't have to get involved in any of the discussions you don't want to, but is it too early to even discuss possible draft picks?? Seriously?  Huh
