ANDY DALTON - TRADED TO EAGLES

Reports indicate that the Panthers have traded QB Andy Dalton to the Eagles. Dalton was given permission earlier this year to seek a trade destination if he wanted to do so. Apparently the Eagles decided to bring him aboard. The Panthers received a 7th Rd pick in 2027.

I REALLY liked Andy. He was the consummate professional. Always did his job and always supported the team and the QB room. I'll miss the 'Red Rifle'.

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers found a younger backup quarterback in free agency and traded their older one.

According to multiple reports Wednesday, the team sent quarterback Andy Dalton to the Eagles for a 2027 seventh-round pick.

Dalton was allowed to seek a trade earlier this offseason, and the Panthers added 27-year-old Kenny Pickett in free agency.

Dalton came here in 2023 to mentor Bryce Young and was valuable in that role throughout his time.

The 38-year-old appeared in 13 games, with seven starts during his three seasons here. He was starting in 2024, before suffering a thumb injury in a car accident, which allowed Young to reclaim the role.

During his career, which includes stints with the Bengals, Saints, Cowboys, and Bears, Dalton has thrown for 31,594 yards (26th on the league's all-time list), 204 touchdowns (27th all-time), and 118 interceptions.

Good guy and was a good mentor for Bryce. He did not look like they guy who could come in and win the game anymore if needed.  It was time to update the QB getting something for him was good but even better was moving on from his contract.Would have never guessed the Eagles.  Take the money and run Andy!

Not sure that Bryce is ready to NOT have Andy in the QB room, that is where his value was imo. Kenny no more QB room prepared than Bryce. Wish the best for everyone.

I watched Kenny's first interview this morning, and they asked why he chose Carolina.  As God is my witness, he stated; "Because I have heard what Coach Canales has done for other quarterbacks".
