So, after the Panthers' basically inexpensive trade for Sam Darnold, what if.... what IF one of the "TOP" quarterbacks is still available at #8?

Do the Panthers draft a quarterback to sit on the bench behind Darnold?  It's what we would have had if not for this trade, so it isn't that far-fetched.

And we still have like six or seven draft picks left in this year's draft.

What do you think?  Would the Panthers dare pass one of them (ie; Mac Jones, Trey Lance, etc)?

And, remember the Draft back when Aaron Rodgers was projected as a top ten draft pick, but he (for whatever reason) began tumbling down and down and down the board to #24, and Alex Smith was picked Round 1 Pick 1 overall?  Where is each of them now?

Things happen.

Just curious... what IF..... ?

“IF”... you trade the heck out of that pick... you have to be all in on Darnold and hope you made the right decision. His price or the price we paid... was actually high when you consider he is under contract for two years.

Yep, there is a huge "IF" riding on Darnold.  That's why I think it's still a good idea to draft one of the top quarterbacks if he is still there.  Just my opinion.   And (posted on another topic), the Panthers have agreed to let Bridgewater seek a trade.

I think the Panthers, if they wanted to draft a QB to groom, Mond will still be there is round 3 maybe even 4.
