Rivera's latest conquest is Ron Vermillion, the (now former) Panthers Strength and Conditioning Trainer and Head Athletic Trainer.  Vermillion has accepted the Head Athletic Trainer position with the Washington Redskins.

Rivera and the Redskins have already lured away Panthers offensive line coach John Matsko and wideout coach Jim Hostler.

The Redskins are also in talks with Panthers Offensive Coordinator Scott Turner, but per Redskins Wire, Scott Turner might not want to make a lateral move to another team, even for Ron Rivera.

Wonder how many players end up there?  Between the Redskins and Buffalo... sheesh lol

Wonder if Travelle Wharton will work his way into the Offensive Line Coach position here, now that Matsko is gone?

You know, you've gotta wonder....

Why jump ship like that?? Can't be about money...I wouldn't think.??...??  Position coaches all make about the same amount I would guess. No higher pay here if you "hold out"... LOL!!

I guess it must be about Rivera. Looks like the players weren't the only ones who liked Ron...!!

Hmmmm....

Maybe..??   I don't think Tepper has been here long enough to alienate a lot of folks (yet...).
Actually, I think Tepper will be good for the Panthers. (As long as HE doesn't choose to play grab-ass with the women around the clubhouse.!!)

Ownership is really not something we can complain about too much. Other than someone like Jerry Jones, most owners don't get too intrusive. So far, Tepper has been very pro-active. A lot of potentially beneficial stuff going on around and about the team.... IMHO.

I would be more surprised if the Panthers were retaining any of those coaches...

Expected. What they have here is an uncertain future with an unknown coach who may come with his own crew. But they have security immediately if they take a short Riverboat ride.

The question about 'retaining' ANY coaches is for the future. Seems like it will depend on WHO is selected as Head Coach.... Yes..???

I could see Scott Turner leaving and his dad, Norv, staying.. I could also see Norv 'retiring' and Scott staying on as OC (I HOPE not.!!). I could see potentially
SOME of the coaches staying around.....
Chase Blackburn..........maybe?
Eric Washington..........probably not
Jerricho Cotchery.......maybe
Pete Hoehner.................maybe
John Matsko....................maybe
Joe Kenn.............................maybe

There are other coaches and assistants as well..... I started to list them all, but quit. Most of them are little known and probably will leave when the new HC is hired. Some of them have a lot of experience in the NFL. Names like Pete Hoehner; Jim Hostler; Sam Mills III..............

The only certainty is..... Nothing is for certain.

Honestly, I would not be against Norv being HC.

I sort of like Norv. Not sure (exactly...) why.???  I think its because he's laid back and yet he has a lot of knowledge and "savvy".  I am not certain that he has the  'strength of purpose' to effectively lead a team, yet... he still can be a decent coordinator.  Norv is a bit of an enigma to me.

I also think he probably does not have the qualifications to meet Tepper's standards. Which, while admittedly not particularly well defined, seem to lean toward a 'younger' coach, with a bent toward modern analytics, and a tougher, old fashioned locker room.

The 'choice' will be interesting.
