O-Line --- Things are happening....

It was bound to happen.  After six weeks of playing together as a unit, and ALL of the players not missing a single snap (I THINK that's right..??), the Panthers will have their first change on the O-Line this week. Center Pat Elflein has not practiced all week and has been downgraded because of a "hip" issue that has not responded quickly enough. Replacing Elflein will be Center Bradley Bozeman.  Pat Elflein has been moved to IR where he will miss at least four weeks before he can return to practice.

Bozeman was one of the additions the Panthers picked up during the off-season. He had played (Started..) 48 games for the Ravens over the last three years.  Bozeman was the odds-on favorite to be the Panthers Center during OTAs and Training Camp. He had an ankle injury during joint practices with the Patriots and Elflein moved into the #1 spot. Now Bozeman is back.

It's an unfortunate situation for Pat Elflein, but Bozeman was the heir-apparent for the position. The Panthers O-Line has been strong and durable so far this year. Let's hope this change does not portend difficulty for the O-Line the rest of the year.

This week the Panthers are also working through an issue with RT Taylor Moton.  Moton had a knee issue show up on Thursday after full-practice on Wednesday. He was limited (LP..) on Thursday and did not practice (DNP..) on Friday. No indication at this time how it happened, or the nature or severity of the injury.  Moton is listed as "Questionable" for the game.

DT Bravion Roy has been activated this week after spending the required time on IR and being "Designated To Return". He will take the spot vacated by Elflein's departure to IR.  With Ioannidis still in the concussion protocol, it seems probable that Roy MIGHT see a little action this week.
