I think we all understand the importance of tonight’s #1 pick… if successful it can set us on the course for a longterm year after year competitive pattern. However, if it is a bust literally it could set us back several years. My fingers are crossed that this works out. But truthfully those odds are against us based on historical statistics.

Brother man, you have spoken the truth like it has never been spoken before.  THIS pick... above any other that I can remember, is so vital to any success of this team for the next half a decade or more.

The Panthers have seen the lows..... and the highs.  We have been to TWO Super Bowls (NO wins..).  We know what it feels like.

Think about this..... There have been a few teams ( Four, I think..?), Browns, Jaguars, Lions, & Texans that have NEVER even played in a Super Bowl.  It is one thing to experience the highs and lows of success and failure.  It is different thing to languish in mediocrity, playing along at 5-12 or 6-11 up to maybe 11-6 or 12-5. Never really falling to the bottom, BUT never rising to the top either.  When you're stuck like that, you never get a chance to draft a #1 QB, without "buying" your way to the top of the order.

It sorta feels like that is where we are headed --- IF this draft doesn't work out.
