THIS according to MSN  as reported in the link.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/rep...li=BBnb7Kz

The Panthers have apparently given Cam permission to seek a new destination... In addition, the Panthers are apparently looking at Teddy Bridgewater (Saints B/U..) to fill his shoes...at least temporarily.!!???

I'm not sure how I feel about this..??

Cam did not INITIATE this activity, and is actually upset over it:

That news came after Newton responded to the team's post on Instagram saying that he could seek a trade.

"Stop with the word play. I never asked for it," he said. "There is no dodging this one. I love the Panthers to death and will always love you guys. Please do not try and play me or manipulate the narrative and act like I wanted this. You forced me into this. Love"

Apparently Cam disagrees with the WAY this happened. Not in the actual substance of WHAT happened.
Cam says he was "forced" into this decision (my words..). His actual quote is on his Twitter feed apparently...

This from MSN... link as published....

Yeah... That's the surprising part of this... I suppose you could MAYBE understand it (just a little..??), Maybe.?? by noting that Bridgewater played under Joe Brady for a year at N.O. before Brady went to LSU.....
Confused

Like I said on another thread, the last backup quarterback we got from the Saints did pretty good for us.

I've looked at some Bridgewater tape... He actually looks like he can move the ball pretty well. AND compared to Cam, he has a VERY quick release. Overall, not too bad...
Not sure about arm strength or downfield accuracy, but doesn't have to be too much to be better than Cam has been recently.
Quick release will definitely be an advantage for us....

According to Bleacher Report.....

We're looking at a three year contract at about $20 mil per season.  Have to wait on the particulars,  AND the official word on the signing. But the amount seems about right considering how QB values have inflated in the past couple of years. It remains to be seen how well Bridgewater holds up over a full season. His last injury (in 2016..?? I Think.??) was a horrible knee injury. Almost caused an amputation, or so it's written... Off for most of two years... Then played in one game in 2018, and five or six last year with the Saints. He's done remarkably well considering.....
