Just read this article on The Athletic: "The Colts were broken, now they’re a playoff contender. A look inside Indy’s revival"

He did not even get an in person interview here.  One zoom meeting and he was out.  And he obviously was not so picky about an owner...he now works for Irsay.  Indy took Richardson in the draft.  Got to wonder if Tepper did not like Steichen's thoughts about the QB to take in the draft. The guy is obviously doing a very good job with Indy.

  "Somehow, the Colts kept winning.

The 38-year-old Steichen is chief among the reasons why. He made it clear to his players back in the spring that he had no intentions of a slow rebuild.

“He let us know he was coming in to win,” linebacker E.J. Speed said. “He don’t f— around with all that losing.”

That’s what most pundits predicted for the Colts this season: four wins, maybe five, six at the most. The rookie quarterback was too green, the secondary too young, the roster too flawed.

Why didn't Tepper like him?  Shane did not want Bryce?  And/or Tepper is just really, really bad at this NFL thing.

Hmmm...

So, Steichen.??  I don't remember him from last year. There wasn't much of a 'wrinkle' in the time-space continuum around this guy. Still, he has done well at Indy.

I wonder..... Does this guy have a chance.??
Huh

Panther "brain trust"   [Image: images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTVRrPXYaMDh6A5QH_cPXL...Q&usqp=CAU]     had a Zoom interview with him.  Did not ask for a 2nd in person interview.

Ahh…ZOOM—that explains it.

Hmm, I wonder how he would compare to Ben Johnson.?? Steichen must be older than Johnson… guessing ??? Ben said he wasn’t “ready” to be a Head Coach. That exhibits some self-awareness, to be able to recognize your own limitations.

I wonder how self-aware Steichen is?? Wonder if either one is interested??

That's what happens when you "think" you know what you are doing and then find out you really do not.  You get a team that goes 2 - 15.

*EDIT* -  Just kidding, I don't think our "brain trust" has realized he doesn't know what he's doing.

Maybe we need us some constituents
