The latest player to re-sign with the Panthers is Austin Corbett. Corbett has had a run of terrible luck the past two seasons, but he keeps coming back, seemingly as good as ever. This may be his last chance though. Sort of a 'swan song' deal. If another injury were to occur, he might have difficulty convincing the 'powers that be' that he is worth the effort. There has never been any doubt about his drive or his dedication to the game and to the Panthers.

PANTHERS.COM: Panthers Agree To Terms With Austin Corbett
Quote:CHARLOTTE — The Panthers made improving their offensive line a priority last offseason, and they made continuity one this year.
In the process, Robert Hunt got his wish, and the Panthers have their center spot covered again.
The team agreed to terms with veteran lineman Austin Corbett Saturday, before he would have been allowed to negotiate with other teams on Monday. Coupled with the return of backup center Cade Mays, who was tendered as a restricted free agent Friday, the Panthers have the middle of the depth chart filled in.
The 29-year-old Corbett won the starting center spot in the preseason, and played well before a torn biceps landed him on injured reserve in October.
A former starting guard, he moved inside with the additions of Hunt and Damien Lewis in free agency and helped create a stable base a year after the team allowed 65 sacks.....
.....
Corbett has fully recovered from the biceps injury, has been working out regularly at the team facility, and should be ready for a full offseason.
