I just read an article that stated the Panthers never once reached out to the Raiders about Derek Carr. It is unknown if they have spoken to his agent or not, but it doens't really look like (to me, at least) that it's going to be a thing.

LATEST NEWS...

Here is the latest information I've seen on the Derek Carr situation.

He is reported to have a "visit" scheduled with the Jets this weekend.  Apparently, the Jets have ANOTHER failed QB, as Zach Wilson is apparently not "their guy".  I cannot remember ANY team EVER going through QBs like the Jets have over the past 10 years.

I had read the same or at least similar article. They were highly suggesting it was either the Jets or the Saints signing him… then of course they mentioned Aaron Rodgers being the Jets highest priority…talking heads! And they get paid for this stuff.

I honestly wish we would go ahead and sign Darnold on a 2-3, even four year type deal with flexibility for both parties. Outside of a massive name and a massive contract he is young, has developed some and still has more upside than downside in my opinion. We can either pull the trigger and go after Stroud or simply wait until next year…it’s my opinion several of next years talents are more nfl ready as Stroud. Is today.

Darnold is a serviceable backup at best, but he could be THE veteran presence we need for ouir "new" quarterback not named Matt Corral.

EXACTLY…… Perfect Synopsis

With FA having begun, it’s hard to predict what could happen across the league. I expect to see some signings soon.  I’m hoping to retain three or four of our own.

Or, and i definitely should have listed this, wait and get Hooker in round 2!

(Probably the reason we didn’t get Cooter… hard to have a Cooter and a Hooker on the same team)
