SIX OBSERVATIONS FROM PANTHERS ROOKIE MINI-CAMP

I'm hopeful about these guys. Folks have such high expectations for rookies though..... I think it puts too much pressure on them too soon. I FIRMLY believe that there are only a VERY few draftees really ready to play a few short months after being drafted. If all of the college players were "so good", there would be no need to even consider re-signing anyone to a second contract. Just throw them away and draft another one. Fortunately, these guys get genuinely better as they add a few years.

I really think Ekwonu might be the only "starter" out of this class this year. Although I really like Smith and Barno, I doubt they will end up starting much.. Don't get me wrong... some of these guys WILL play this year. "How much" is the question.
