Hard to tell about the reasoning behind certain actions. Probably considered that Burns was still in the middle of his rookie contract and was a cheap player at the position. NOW... at the end of the contract, he is no longer cheap. AND, he's not performing at an elite level. Sure, he's good, but he's NOT elite. The only thing elite about Burns right now is his EGO.....
He's underperforming and "dogging it" on the field. As far as I'm concerned, he's history.
