Wow...love it when he takes 3 guys out of the play.
He scored a 9.99 out of 10 on the RAS (relative athletic score) a test used to measure linemen and other players. A lot of former pro bowlers and all pros in that field.
To compare, Ickey only scored a 8.26

YES… He’s brutish strong, quick and fast. Looks really good in pass pro as well as run blocking. He can get downfield on sweeps and could conceivably be a receiver on “tackle eligible” plays — if his “hands” are good. Can’t wait to see how he develops.!!!

Yeah man, I agree. The kid is going to be a stud in the NFL. Thomas Davis said on one of the podcast videos the other day that Freeling is one of those "rare athletes" you won't see on the field unless you go all the way back to Jordan Gross. And, for TD to say that, it meant a lot.
And the fact that he was originally predicted to be a top-10 if not top-5 draft prospect, and we got him at #19 is a huge bonus for the Panthers.
While I'm at it, let me make a prediction here; Freeling will take Ikem Ekwonu's job at Left Tackle. Plain and Simple. I'm not even sure that we will see Icky on the field again in a Panthers uniform.

You could be right…. I said several times here, I think he will miss most if not all of this season. That will make him a FA next year. If he sticks around I predict he’ll move inside as a OG. Might also move to the RT spot if T-Mo decides to hang em up or leaves in FA. He would make a decent “swing” tackle. I really do believe he’s finished on the left side.

He is kind of average at best anyway. Excited for the potential upgrade.
