The biggest problem I see with potentially hiring Harbaugh is that Wilks and several of his assistants will leave, and Harbaugh will probably replace whoever else remains. That's a brand new coaching staff top to bottom.
The issue is that the players on this team have bought into what Wilks is selling, and that's a good thing.
Darnold, while basically "adequate", is not the long term solution. I'm not sold on Matt Corral, either.
But yeah, there are definite changes that have to be made, I'm just not thinking it's the HC position. Offensive Coordinator, maybe. He's way to conservative for my taste and it shows on gameday.

Not bad. You "paint with a broad brush", but I believe you are close to correct with a lot of it. This pretty much follows my thinking about his attitude although I didn't use nearly as many 'descriptive' terms.!!
In any event, you're NOT wrong. I think "we" have become decidedly "pink", soft, girly, while demanding and watching male dominated 'combat' sports. Maybe we do need to "become one" with our softer sides..??? I know this follows modern politically correct thinking. SMH...
I know we don't want a coach who strangles kittens or kicks puppies, but this game is NOT, I repeat, is NOT all about rainbows and unicorns.!! The most effective football coaches are tough, brash, and dominant. They are "sure of themselves." They are going to be at the front of the line 'punching', rather than hiding behind a hard-nosed DE or LB. We expect them to LEAD, and they do. FROM THE FRONT.
So.... Is Jim Harbaugh the right "type" for a HC in the NFL.?? I don't know if he is 'right' for the Panthers, thank goodness I don't have to make those decisions. But.... I DO believe he is the right "type". THAT is why he has been (and IS..) so damn successful.
