wow...just wow

https://sports.yahoo.com/chiefs-kicker-h...11008.html

There are some times when maybe, just maybe, one should actually stick to sports.

.......Butker’s legacy of tolerance is a bit more complicated.

Butker recently delivered the commencement address at Benedictine College, a liberal arts institution in Atchison, Kansas. This is the same college that once forced out gay basketball player Jallen Messersmith to remove a rainbow flag from his dorm room window.

After delivering some incendiary comments about Covid and President Biden, Butker got around to what he perceives as a woman’s ultimate and rightful place: the kitchen.

“I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolic lies told to you. Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.

“I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother. I’m on this stage today, able to be the man that I am, because I have a wife who leans into her vocation.

“I’m beyond blessed with the many talents God has given me, but it cannot be overstated that all my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all. Homemaker.”

“The world around us says that we should keep our beliefs to ourselves whenever they go against the tyranny of diversity, equity and inclusion,” Butker said. “We fear speaking truth, because now, unfortunately, truth is in the minority.”

Then, on to Pride Month, which takes place in June.

“Not the deadly sins sort of Pride that has an entire month dedicated to it, “but the true God-centered pride that is cooperating with the holy ghost to glorify him.”

What a jackass.  If he has any sponsorship deals...pretty soon he won't.

You know, that's what I hate about so-called "Celebrities" who make it their business to tell others how to live, act, and vote. Just because someone has celebrity status doesn't make them an expert on world culture or world politics. Do your job. Shut the hell up. Stop acting like you know better than anyone else. Live and let live. Oh yeah, and stop ruining my life.

..... That goes for you, too, Taylor Swift.

Agree.  Use your celebrity status and/or influence to do something good in the world.  Help the homeless, help children who are poor, raise money for treating pediatric cancer or heart disease.  Lift people up instead of trying to divide and promote hatred.

Interesting tidbit:

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, who raised eyebrows for suggesting women should be homemakers, was raised by a mom who’s a physicist.

His mom, Elizabeth Butker, has been a medical physicist at Emory University’s department of radiation oncology since 1988, per her LinkedIn. She specializes in brachytherapy and Gamma Knife medical physics care, per a 2020 article by Emory’s Winship Cancer Institute.

Elizabeth received her master’s degree in medical physics from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1988 after attending Smith College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 1985. Elizabeth’s father, James Keller, worked in oncology at Emory for 28 years before retiring in 2011.

The animated Los Angeles Chargers kicked Kansas City Chiefs star Harrison Butker into the kitchen Wednesday night, creatively mocking his belief that women should ditch careers for home life.

Moments after the NFL released its 2024 schedule, the Chargers dropped a 3 1/2-minute, Sims-style video that spared no one and cast their opponents as everything from clowns to criminals.

At the 2:55 mark, the Chargers' post showed a No. 7 Chiefs player (Butker’s number) toiling away in an old fashion kitchen — baking, cleaning and struggling with a flower arrangement.ESPN’s Mina Kimes, one of the most respected football analysts on TV, used emojis of laughing tears to sum up the Chargers Butker content.

Butker recently put his powerful field-goal-kicking foot into his mouth with a commencement speech advocating for women to give up careers and concentrate on spousal and motherhood duties.
