This one bothers me a lot. I grew up listening and watching this man perform. He didn't do everything, or play every role. But at those things he attempted, there was none better. I will never forget him, and I would bet that most of you won't either. You may not even recognize the name, but you would recognize the voice.
He was one of a VERY few performers who won all four of the major awards: Tony; Grammy; Emmy and Oscar. The Academy Award (Oscar) was for Lifetime Achievement -- “a legacy of consistent excellence and uncommon versatility.”.
It's a sad day. Rest In Peace, Mr. Jones.
