We desperately need to fix our O-Line, but neither Sam Darnold or Cam Newton are our long term answer at Quarterback.  Nor is PJ Walker.

We will pick either 5th or 6th, depending on this weekend vs the Bucs and what happens with the Giants, but all the talking heads right now have the top quarterback, Matt Corral, slated to fall to us.    This kid has "IT".  He has a strong arm, he's very accurate, and he is mobile.   If he can't do it in the air, he can do it with his legs.

He did, COINCIDENTALLY, suffer an injury scare in the Sugar Bowl versus (wait for it....) BAYLOR.  But the latest updates were all negative and said it was an ankle sprain.

As late as January of this year, the pundits had Matt Corral as the #1 quarterback in this year's draft. What changed since then? Politics? Either way, congrats to the Panthers and to Matt Corral! While we did NOT get him in the first round, for him to have fallen so late in the third round is utterly dumbfounding.

I think that all of the QBs falling indicates a realignment of expectations with this year’s talent.  The draft was HEAVY with talent early. But the QBs weren’t at the level of the other positions. So they fell down the board and realigned according to perceived value.  It’s NOT that teams don’t need QBs. Some do. It’s just that the meat and potatoes in THIS draft is at other positions. This year’s QBs just aren’t up to the VALUE of previous drafts….when compared to other positions of need.
