I'm thinking the Panthers have at least one more FA move coming up (maybe more than one..).

Today's announcement has the Panthers and Christian McCaffreey agreeing to restructure his contract. The move clears about 5 1/2 Mil. in cap space. Who knows what the Panthers have in mind.?? But it should be interesting...

Well, that could do a COUPLE of things.

1. It could free up some earnest money for the team to spend.

and/or;

2. It could allow them to make CMC more attractive to teams who might otherwise not want to take on his previously huge contract in a trade.

Hmmm...I'm not certain why that would make his contract more attractive to anyone..???  The value of the contract remains the same. The only thing changing is HOW it's paid. Any team who picks up that contract could negotiate with Carolina to "own" all or part of the contract amounts. AND of course the 'new' team could restructure just as easily as the Panthers.... Of course, McCaffrey would have to agree, so there is that.... Hmmm, I don't know..?? Maybe.????
