It's currently being reported that Panthers WR, Shi Smith, has been arrested on Drugs and Weapons charges. He has apparently posted bond and has been released. The Panthers team spokesperson has indicated that the Panthers are aware of the situation and will have no further comment at this time.

The latest word from the pundits indicates that the Shi Smith thing is getting ramped up (or so to speak..). NBC Sports Edge is quoting Sports Illustrated as saying the investigation is "active". Not certain (exactly..) what that means. I assume that it could indicate that the law enforcement agency in charge is looking into the case and further information and possibly additional charges could happen (my words...unknown certainty..).
