If you have been wondering how the college football world has been shaping up in the admittedly VERY early going....well, take heart because some results are now becoming available. AND, there have been some surprises (are you really surprised that there would be some surprising results..???
For example, Alabama was supposed to dominate Texas, BUT it was close, 20-19 style close.!! Alabama escaped with the win, but the game was in doubt the whole way.
#6 Texas A&M was supposed to walk over lowly Appalachian State, BUT it didn't happen. Nope, the #6 Texas A&M machine LOST to App State. It wasn't a blow out, but a defeat for A&M by APP State, even at 17-14 still makes a statement.
In various polls, Oregon was ranked either #1 or #2 in the PAC-12........ Georgia DESTROYED Oregon 49-3..!!! So Georgia jumps over Alabama for the early #1 spot.
And now, Florida State has reappeared in the rankings. After being resigned to the trash heap for the past 5 years, Fla. St. has come alive. NOT really back to prominence yet, but at least back in the rankings.
What will the rest of the season hold for these teams and others as well..?? Who knows. But one thing for certain....Expect the UN-expected.!!
