 Newsroom: Only two QB's

The Panthers will go to war this season with only two QB’s on the team for the first time in franchise history (that Im aware of without looking) and would delegate the 3rd QB spot to Tight End Kris Mangum in case of an emergency.


"Well, there's a risk involved," Fox said about having just the two quarterbacks. "But there have been other people do it in the past. We're not the first ones to break this ground."


I think this is a Brilliant move by the Panthers staff, we all know how important a single roster spot is in today’s NFL and how many times has a team went down to the 3rd string QB in one game anyway? I can only remember the Panthers doing it once off the top of my head (v/s TB) and im not so sure Mangum couldn’t have done a better job even on that day.

The Carolina Panthers have added a new game-day activity to help get your kids in the mood before the game this season, you and your kids can participate in "Combine-style activities" like the vertical leap, 40 yard dash and they’ll be a wide receiver challenge I know that my son would have to try this year. There will also be a inflatable obstacle course a TopCat dance studio and lot’s more.

The Combine will open two hours before kick-off of every home game this season, it will be held on the Carolina Panthers practice field next to the stadium. Let’s try and take the time to take our kids by and let them have a little fun activity before the game.
 
Are as my Grandma would say, "run the wild out of em"


I personally think this was a great idea from the Panthers Org.

 CAT TALK: speculating

Panthers NewsJust a little over three more hot months to go till things start to get serious.

What do we do during that time?
 


We speculate!


This is the time of the off-season where most Panther fans are sitting around with their friends talking about how good they think we could be this year based on how we think the team will be after adding a few free agents and a few draft picks and whatnot.


Whether your sitting at the lunch table at work or talking to your friends at school or over the phone, or maybe your chatting to hundreds of hardcore fans on-line. Everyone has their own theory of how things are gonna play out and I’m sure most everyone has said "this is gonna be our year" once or twice before in the past, I know I have!


So for the next three months and some odd days, we need to try to stay as cool as we possibly can (save the heat strokes for the pre-season games at B.O.A.), keep our ears to the walls for any new team information, and most of all keep on speculating. Just how good do you think we can be this season? What do your friends think?


I’m not sure about you, but I really think "this is gonna be our year" (providing everybody stays healthy)!!!!

CHARLOTTE – The Carolina Panthers entered training camp with one of theyoungest teams in the NFL.

 

Nothing happened to derail the youth movement Saturday, when the Panthersreduced their roster from 75 to 53 players for the start of the regular season.

 

A team record 10 rookies made the opening-dayroster, with nine of Carolina's 10 draft picks as well as undrafted defensivetackle Andre Neblettsurviving the cut.

 

The preponderance of youth meant that veterandefensive tackle Tank Tyler found himself among those waived; returningquarterback Hunter Cantwell didn't make it while rookieTony Pikedid; and young receivers like David Gettisand Charly Martinsecured roster spots while relative veteran Kenny Moore did not.

 

"There were quite a few players that we had to release that we would havebeen very happy to have," general manager Marty Hurney said. "We had a lot ofdifficult decisions at a lot of different positions.

 

"It's a good thing to have I guess, but it makes it extremely hard."

The Carolina Panthers narrow the roster down to the final 53 players.
