Week 18 Play Calling / - OceanPanther - 12-31-2025 Part 1 From what we’re told, Dave Canales has called all the plays this season. Many of us feel he’s done a poor job . Some games good, many inept. So it’s the last game of the season, and a win puts us in the playoffs. You’re the GM, do you let Canales keep calling the plays, or do you tell Canales he has to let Brad Idzik call the plays? ( Brad has never called plays for the Panthers. ) Who’s calling your plays Saturday ? Part 2 . This one easy. Pick the winner for the game Saturday ~ Panthers vs buc-ee . Is it a W or an L . Don’t need a score . Just a W or an L ? For me : Canales calls last game . ( sighhh ) Panthers get the L ( sighhh ) I have no confidence in this team on offense. We’ve had 9 games where we scored 17 or less points . RE: Week 18 Play Calling / - Firstchance - 12-31-2025 Canales will call the plays looking for his “opportunities”. He will then be searching for his personal “opportunities”. The Bucs win, the Saints defeat us again and beat the Falcons. We don’t walk through the back door to host a playoff game, even though every “opportunity” presented itself. Canales is replaced with Joe Brady who is reunited with Joe Burrow and we win the Super Bowl the year after next. Happy New Year everyone. You never know which version would show up to work. He would always be there, but sometimes it was a moot point. I can't begin to guess. We can only HOPE! One thing we need to STOP doing is playing soft. Defense plays lights out football, but the Offense looks like they told Bryce, "Whatever you do, try not to throw the football beyond the line of scrimmage".

I know that Bryce is praised for being so even keeled but I would like to see this team....both sides of the ball...play with fire. In both the Saints game...it definitely looked like the Saints wanted it more. Going through the motions not to make a mistake is not winning football. The thing about Bryce, for me at least, is he still looks unsure and at times even a little robotic. It's like he's either afraid to take chances passing the football, or someone has told him NOT to pass the football. Where that comes from , I have no clue. But one of the things I’m convinced is, Is our coach, his staff , have not shown me any ability of making in adjustments during a game. Especially after halftime. It’s Game Day !!
RE: Week 18 Play Calling / - Ladypanther - 01-03-2026 Looking back at what was said about Canales when he was the Buc's OC....I am beginning to believe that he is now held back by Bryce.. How in the heck can we fix that? How in the heck can we fix that? Well..... We could (maybe.? - kinda-sorta.?) NOT pick up his 5th year option..??? But I suspect that Canales is still worshipping at the shrine where BY lives (and will ultimately waste away..). Canales does not strike me as the kind of guy who will ever admit to his mistakes, so we'll probably just slowly molder away back to insignificance. ***sigh*** RE: Week 18 Play Calling / - Ladypanther - 01-03-2026 (01-03-2026, 01:47 PM)Hobbit99 Wrote:(01-03-2026, 12:21 PM)Ladypanther Wrote: Looking back at what was said about Canales when he was the Buc's OC....I am beginning to believe that he is now held back by Bryce.. How in the heck can we fix that? In his defense....Bryce was not his mistake. He inherited him and was charged with trying to make a QB out of him. We all have to wait for Tepper to see the light.
