GRASS VS. TURF -- BofA IS BACK IN THE NEWS - Hobbit99 - 06-28-2023
For various reasons, the Panthers decided to change out the playing surface in BofA stadium last year. Electing to move ahead with an artificial 'turf' surface instead of grass was at least partially because of the various functions being held on the field....and there are quite a few. One of the main considerations was the surface being applicable for the Charlotte FC, a local Major League Soccer (MLS) team, belonging to Tepper Sports and Entertainment. The move to the "turf" surface was highly and vocally criticized by players and the NFLPA.
Whether the field will remain an artificial surface remains to be seen, but it is apparent that something as important as "GOLD CUP" soccer matches, even if there is only a couple of them, can have a new natural grass surface installed at BofA if they want or request it.....
