Because he is the top qb in the draft. Only top ten worthy qb pick and since we traded close to a farm we have to take him. Teams and fans go nuts for drafting qb’s… always hoping to hit the lottery. Stroud in the closest to being a “hopeful” sure thing.

The good thing is, if you can get that guy, and not a JeMarcus Russell, a Ryan Leaf, a Tim Couch and the list goes on of the next best thing that can’t miss, then it’s like hitting a lottery, maybe not the mega millions but a very nice prize and you really need that prize to be successful year in and year out. So hopefully we get the right person, with the right support staff around that right person and then trust the process… we could be highly competitive for years to come…and at a decent price for five years, lol.

Agreed, we gotta make the right decision. Hard thing to do.
Have the staff to coach a #1. Hope we choose the right one.
