Hmmm
I like Shannon Sharpe (for the most part..). Ocho-Cinco is a lot more full of hot air. Still, there's a lot of truth here. But every time I hear these armchair experts talk, I get the shivers. They spout off all those "truisms" about, the Panthers -- all they gotta do is put the pieces around him. He needs an 'all-star' O-line. He needs a "Larry Tunsill". Gotta have top 5 quality OTs. Interior O-linemen -- gotta find that top 5 talent. All he needs is a couple of #1 WRs. And while they're at it, pick up a couple 'blocking' style RBs and TEs. It's the Panthers responsibility to build an impregnable fortress around their rookie QB. If the average QB needs 3-4 seconds to see, evaluate, and throw -- then the Panthers need to give Young 6-8 seconds. AND... it's "gonna take time"... Lotsa time.... Not fair to expect him to perform. Gotta give him a break. Don't expect too much. Gotta build up his confidence...
So, the Panthers HAVE made some mistakes. No doubt about it. And one of the most obvious ones was drafting a "smurf" QB. He MIGHT be a "fast processor", and he probably is an intelligent young man. But, THAT does not translate into a #1 QB.
So, put on your big boy panties, Bryce.... and play football. Oh, ... And welcome to the NFL.
