Does Tua's  performance last night against the Chief's  in -7 degrees,  give you any hesitation in maybe wanting Frank Smith , the Dolphins Assistant Coach ?    Does Tua's performance Durning the season give you call to think twice also, based on the great talent he has around him ??

So, about the game. The game, from my perspective, was pretty much a 'slog'. Must have been really uncomfortable. Considering the depth of cold, it was a decent performance, especially from the Chiefs. That is about all I can say as far as any "good" is concerned. Any time the Chiefs, behind Mahomes, have to kick four FGs in a game, it should tell you something. 

The Chiefs were definitely the better team. They put on a Defensive clinic that suggests future opponents need to take notice. I've never been a Tua fan, so Miami's performance didn't surprise. They were pretty ineffectual, like they have been for the last three weeks or so. If this game had been played in a more favorable location, it would have been more interesting. The results would have been much the same I think (Chiefs victory..), but it would have been less of a chore to watch.

The coaching situation is a bit of a quandary.  Smith's Offense WAS effective throughout the year, no doubt. However, I believe it was "in spite of" rather than "because of" Frank Smith. The Dolphins built their league-leading Offense on the back of a lot of sub-caliber teams. One of the journalists called them a "paper tiger", which is a pretty apt description.  Smith has two years experience as OC. That's all, and definitely not enough (IMO). So, did the game change my opinion..?? Not really. I don't think Smith is a logical choice now, nor was he ever.

To be totally frank, this has been a wildly diminished Miami team than from the season start. They were beat up pretty good by the injury bug.

That was my thinking also, and why I posted my dribble..   

BLACK CAT.  I agree,,  The Dolphins were decimated with injuries.  Yes, most teams are this time if the year.  

I just think as far down as this franchise is..  we can't afford another 3 years of hoping for a young bright  mind to come in and save us from Tepper.

No  !!!   I do not think Teppers money will win us a veteran of the NFL WARS ... Belichick or Harbaugh type ...  so we will be crossing our fingers that  " Tepper "  signs the correct young wiz kid coach ..  

Well… Hobbit, ya didn’t think Demeco Ryans was experienced enough either, and yet look at what he did with the Texans with only one year as the DC of SF under his belt lol. I’m just saying, Heart goes a long way. I don’t think Frank Smith is the best choice, hell, I don’t think we can afford any of the best choices. We are the worst team to coach for. Who do you think we will get? Honestly think we will get Ben Johnson? He’s the most coveted OC in the carousel. To be honest, our best bet would be Ejiro or someone like that, which I don’t think would be a bad thing either, because the guy can flat out coach. Sometimes the best guy for the job isn’t the guy with all the accolades. SEE FRANK REICH, GEORGE SIEFERT, (and soon) Bill Belichick.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- we are 3-5 years from being realistically competitive. No one is going to jump right in and fix Ekwonu’s footwork, make pro bowlers out of our offensive line, hall of famers out of our receivers, or make Bryce grow 6 inches. Our next coach is probably going to hit a roadblock in his career once he gets here because of our magnificent situation. Just my 2 cent, fwiw.

Oh, what I came here to actually add was I HOPE we don’t pick eagles OC/DC after their poor showing vs the Bucs last night. That was almost Panther level football.

Funny you should say that. Told my wife the Eagles were Panthers in disguise! There was zero motivation…defeated before they even arrived. Willing to bet the Bucs get smoked this weekend.

Yea, the Eagles looked awful...hard to believe they were so bad on both sides of the ball.
