As the 2022 NFL Draft approaches, several thoughts seem to run rampant across the media these days. Most of the prognosticators want to beat the dead (wounded..???) horse about QBs. They insist that the Panthers absolutely MUST make a huge 'splash' decision or be forever relegated to the disgusting, smelly landfill of the NFL quagmire. Well, here's a thought for you instead. Scott Fitterer, the Panthers GM, is the "best" GM to have in your 'war room' on draft day.
It's an interesting thought. Who is the "best" GM to have representing your team on draft day.?? Well, I suspect there are a lot of ways to look at that question. However, when the metric you use is all about 'making trades' on draft day, well... it becomes easier to see the "forest" instead of the trees. Fitterer learned his job well in Seattle. He knows (and understands..) the process. AND, he is willing to make the tough decisions. Being "in on every deal" is a tough standard to uphold. Fitterer does it well and comes through with flying colors..... Blue; Black; White; and Silver colors.
