It seems like Running Backs have become the nom de guerre (although there seems to be very little misperception or disguise..) in the current NFL trade deadline talks. Which, incidentally, ends today.  So with the departure of our own CMC for the 'Left Coast' what is the net effect on our Running Back room.??

Initially, it looked as if Raheem Blackshear might be a "thing" for the Panthers. He absolutely 'DOMINATED' the Return Game against the 49ers but has seen almost no action since then. Then the Panthers brought back Spencer Brown, first to the Practice Squad then elevated against the Falcons where he took some snaps, to little or no effect. With Chuba Hubbard trying to recover, having missed ALL of last week, that left only D'onta Foreman, who once again performed admirably, this time against the Falcons.

That leaves John Lovett as the sole remaining RB on the roster anywhere. Lovett is a rookie out of Penn State where he played only one year after transferring from....... you guessed it, Matt Rhule's Baylor U.

So, that brings us to this week's topic of inclusion.  The Panthers Running Backs and "...what is 'New'".

It appears as if the Panthers have decided to invest a little in the room. Well....invest a little TIME at least. The latest information has the Panthers "working out" a new RB this week. As reported by Panthers Wire, the Panthers have brought in RB Cam'Ron Harris. Harris a UDFA out of Univ of Miami. He had a largely 'satisfying' career with the Hurricanes and turned into a stalwart RB in 2021 before injury shut him down. The injury, listed here as a "leg injury," ultimately finished him last year and he went undrafted. Before getting injured, he was averaging almost 6 yds per carry for the Hurricanes.  Whether he 'sticks' here remains to be seen.....
