PANTHERS ROSTER - UP TO 90 - DOWN TO 89 - 88; 90; WAIVERS, WAIVERS, WAIVERS

The Panthers roster, hovering along at 88 players for a couple of weeks now, has jumped back up to 90. The Panthers claimed two players off of waivers Thursday afternoon/evening after OTAs wrapped up. Joining the Panthers are DT Jalen Dalton and RB Tiyon Evans. Dalton was waived by the Atlanta Falcons and Evans was waived by the Rams.

These moves seem a little odd to me. Didn't think we had any need for another DT or RB.    But..... What do I know.????

The Panthers, who just claimed two players from waivers on Thursday to bring their roster up to 90, have today placed one of them back on waivers. DT Jalen Dalton, claimed on Thursday, received his jersey number this morning (# 78), and now has relinquished his roster spot just a few hours later. Dalton was with the Saints and last year with the Falcons. I guess he'll be scrapping with other early rejects for a position somewhere in the league.

The Panthers now head into Mandatory Minicamp this week with 89 players on the roster instead of 90. What would you bet that there is another move afoot..???

The roster is back to 90....

After waiving DT Jalen Dalton to reduce the roster to 89 a couple of days ago, the Panthers waived Safety Vernon Scott as well. That gave them two free spots to fill ..... Today the Panthers announced they have added CB Greg Mabin who was a 'tryout' player this week at Minicamp. They also added Safety Josh Thomas, having claimed him off of waivers from the Cardinals.  These two additions brought the roster back up to 90, AND, perhaps more importantly, added a little more depth to the DB room.
