......the Panthers have a total of seven picks.

They still have their own second through fourth-rounders, plus the Giants' second-rounder, the Titans' fifth-rounder, the 49ers' fifth-rounder and the Cardinals' sixth-rounder.

The first-rounder went to Chicago in the Mar. 10, 2023 deal which netted them the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. The Panthers sent their own first-rounder (ninth overall), a late second-rounder, their 2024 first-rounder, a 2025 second-rounder, and wide receiver DJ Moore to make the move up to take quarterback Bryce Young.

Their July 6, 2022 deal with Cleveland for quarterback Baker Mayfield was for a conditional 2024 fifth-rounder. That choice would have become a fourth-rounder if Mayfield hit certain playing time benchmarks (70 percent of their offensive snaps), but he did not so it remains a fifth-rounder.

The sent their 2024 sixth-rounder (along with a 2023 seventh-rounder) to the Jaguars for wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. in a deal on Aug. 29, 2022.

That same day, the Panthers acquired the Tennessee fifth in the deal for reserve offensive lineman Dennis Daley and their 2024 seventh-rounder. On Oct. 17, 2022 they acquired the sixth-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals in a trade for Robbie Anderson (along with Arizona's seventh-round pick in 2025).

On Oct 20, 2022, the Panthers traded running back Christian McCaffrey to the 49ers for four picks (including second, third, and fourth-rounders in 2023 and a fifth-rounder in 2024).

According to reports, the Mar. 11, 2024 deal that sent Brian Burns to the Giants was in exchange for a 2024 second-rounder and a 2025 fifth-rounder.

Here's a look at the Panthers' 2024 picks:

— Their own second-rounder (No. 33 overall)

— New York's second rounder (No. 39 overall)

— Their own third-rounder (No. 65 overall)

— Their own fourth-rounder (No. 100 overall)

— Tennessee's fifth-rounder (No. 141 overall)

— San Francisco's fifth-rounder (No. 165 overall)

— Arizona's sixth-rounder (No. 177 overall)

While we did not get that crazy offer the Rams made...we got some value for Burns. A good scouting department and a good GM can make that 2nd rounder a very good one. Morgan has a reputation for having a good eye for talent at his previous stops.

As a team that is rebuilding...draft picks are valuable.  I have heard good things about Dan and am hoping he can spot talent outside of day 1 of the draft.
