WELL.... 4TH quarter defense SUCKED.!!
As mentioned in "the Box", Howell was the best rookie QB today....by far. And it wasn't even close. Lots of grace under fire. No running scared. Not afraid to challenge our defense. It will be interesting to see how he develops...
Zane Gonzales shows once again why he is kicking for us.
Thanks Zane.... You Da Man...!! ( I can't believe I wrote that...).

Went back and watch the game a second time. Any thoughts about can Cam Erving?
Personally I thought he was horrendous at right tackle. I mean really really really bad. A former first round pick! Maybe moving inside as a backup would be helpful but he was really really bad.
Our power went out with 8 minutes left in the game and didn't come back on for about an hour, but I was able to see the important parts.
And can I say that what I saw from PJ Walker impressed me more than what I saw from Sam Darnold. Sam still has the spontaneous reaction to pressure, he tries to force it downfield somewhere.
I really liked seeing Baker slinging those long balls downfield. It's been a while for us.
And Barno was BALLING. That kid was like, "Imma MAKE this team!" lol

I don't know....
I'm sort of pragmatic about the whole thing. Remember that Erving is basically a Swing Tackle. With any luck, he will just play in spots here and there. We have Moton on the right side and now we have Ekwonu on the left side. Throw in Christensen and we have a really decent set of Tackles. As long as we keep injuries to a minimum, we should be fine. If we get a bunch of linemen injured, the game changes. Injuries will tell the story.....

Agreed hobbit, we have much more depth.
Christianson, Daley could play tackle. I hope Irving is a reserve rt. Don’t know. I saw ikey looking back at a sack, or pressure against was. Looked bad. It happens.

Yep....you're correct. Ekwonu got beat BAD. Took about two steps and the DE/Outside Guy was by him. He just stood there and watched. Darnold took the hit, but hung in there and made the TD throw into the left back corner. Perfect ball, perfect catch. STILL.... hard to believe Ekwonu was standing "looking" at the disaster as it happened...
