WEEK 9 INJURY REPORT -- WEDNESDAY -------> FRIDAY

It has been awhile since the Panthers have had less than ten players on the Injury Report. So, today is a good day. The Report came out with only eight players named for the start of the practice cycle for the week. Of the eight named players, only four of them were listed as DNP....and one of those (D'onta Foreman..) was a vet rest day. So....three actual injured, sore, sick, damaged players serious enough to be a DNP. The other four were all shown as LP (Limited..).

Of the players listed, Justin Burris continues to miss time with a concussion. Hopefully he will recover soon. Donte Jackson continues to play every week on a sore ankle. The past weeks, after being checked, worked on, retaped, etc., he returned to the game. He was finally carted off last week when the ankle became too sore to play. It might be that he will have to take some more time to heal.... New this week is Stephen Sullivan who is shown as "Illness" which is usually a euphemism for Covid. His availability will depend on further testing I'm sure.  Amare Barno is also new this week with a knee issue.

Thursday Update...

As the week progresses and practice continues toward the meeting of the teams on the field in Cincinnati, one thing becomes obvious. Well, maybe more than one thing. The Panthers are still recovering from the last "bash", and players, like 'normal' folks everywhere, get hurt and need time to heal.
We move forward by adding three players to the report on Thursday. Rashard Higgins, Taylor Moton, and Sam Franklin. Moton is not an issue, as he was listed as a "rest" day. Higgins and Franklin were listed as "Illness" which 'usually' indicates the possibility of a positive Covid test. D'onta Foreman is back of course from his "rest" day and was FP..... While Stephen Sullivan missed his second day in a row to the dreaded "Illness" designation. AND Donte Jackson missed a second day to his worrisome ankle after being carted off against the Falcons. AND, of course, Justin Burris missed another day with his concussion.

FRIDAY UPDATE...

As we move into Friday, the Injury Report offers some clarity. Justin Burris, Rashard Higgins, and Chuba Hubbard have all been declared "OUT" for the Bengals game. Justin Burris and Chuba Hubbard especially will be missed this week. D'onta Foreman and Taylor Moton have both recovered from their "Vet Rest" and are ready to go.    

Of the remaining six players listed, three have no status listed for the game, so that means they should be 'good to go'. The remaining three, Donte Jackson and Amare Barno are listed as 'QUESTIONABLE' and Stephen Sullivan is shown as 'DOUBTFUL' with his "illness' still not completely resolved. The assumption is he came into contact with Covid and has not cleared the protocol.
