The Panthers are apparently counting on Donte Jackson. He's been hurt several times in the last couple of years. He is currently recovering from a torn achilles tendon. Happened in week 10 last year. Recovery is well underway. This video short shows a lot of progress. Looks like he will be ready for the season.

I feel bad for Donte. Achilles injuries are hard to recover from, especially for someone who has to make and break on the ball so hard and so fast as a cornerback. He might be "ready", but I have my doubts that he will be "capable". Jon Beason was never the same after tearing his. Best wishes to Donte, I honestly hope he's ready and back to normal.

Well.... It's a difficult thing, and that's for certain. You're right about the stress encountered as a DB. Quickness is just as important, maybe more so than speed. But as TD proved by coming back after three (3) ACLs, It CAN be done.  I remember many exciting plays Donte made by leaping 'out of the building' and deflecting or intercepting a pass. I hope he recovers and comes back in a BIG way.  I have my fingers crossed.
