I've been saying this for awhile. Well, commenting this actually, not predicting. Still, there has been a LOT of action today with a LOT of teams moving away from high $$ players.
Example: In addition to the DT we got from the Rams (Bobby Brown III), the Rams have also shed the contract of Cooper Kupp. The fans out there are floored -- and mostly silent.!! Of course, it's not set in stone yet, but the word is they couldn't find a trade partner that would take on the contract.... So, it looks like an outright release.!!
The point is, there have been a bunch of players like this who have worn out their welcome in one spot only to move to another spot where they will once again attempt to carry their burgeoning salaries in their private armored car.
I believe there will be several teams that would be interested in moving up to #8. Whether Dan will be interested is another matter. I suspect he will be, so I THINK we will trade back. The offer will probably be back to 15-22 ... somewhere in that range. The right offer would probably be for a 2nd, and depending on where the 2nd lands, maybe an additional 3rd or 4th. As a point of interest, trading back twice is not out of the question. Maybe back to say #14, and then another trade back to maybe #22.
I know it's a lot to wrap your mind around, but stranger things have happened.
I think we have the TE room we want right now. MAYBE we add another one late...maybe.?? But no way we draft TE in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. I really think we stand pat on TEs until late in the 5th or 7th. Remember Dan and Dave got their TE last year with Ja'Tavion Sanders. I can't see a reason to draft another one right now. We also have at least four or five more. I just checked... We currently have six (6) TEs on the roster.
Do we really need another one.??
Oh... I wouldn't be mad about Walker either. I just think that there is enough talent in the Draft in the "trenches", that it would be a great time to gather some... JIC... you know.
