Good stuff. I think we arguably have the best set of rookies, both drafted and undrafted, that I have seen in years, if ever.

Good write up about his leadership;

CHARLOTTE — Friday afternoon, as the two quarterbacks taking part in the Carolina Panthers rookie minicamp walked out of the QB meeting room, it was with a directive.

Use that downtime to immerse yourself back in the playbook. Don't let a bad operation in practice keep them from taking advantage of this limited window during which they're in front of NFL coaches and scouts. So, Haynes King took the message to heart. He started sending texts to anyone he had a number for and instructed them to go around the hotel and find anyone else who could run through some offensive plays.

"It was kind of like a knock on the door, trying to find (people)," laughed King, sharing the story Saturday, after rookie minicamp concluded.

Within a few minutes, they had enough guys to simulate plays. A full offensive line, a tight end, three receivers, and a quarterback. They found an off-site parking lot between the stadium and the hotel where the participants are staying. There was enough room to walk through the plays so that it would work.

Haynes who?

Based on reports from the Carolina Panthers' rookie minicamp on May 9, 2026, undrafted free agent quarterback Haynes King stood out for his leadership, maturity, and initiative in mastering the new offensive system..

Key Takeaways from MinicampTongueroactive Leadership: King took it upon himself to organize impromptu walkthroughs in a parking lot near the team hotel to help teammates walk through plays, demonstrating strong leadership and a commitment to learning the playbook.Command of the Offense: Coaches noted that the offense operated smoothly on Saturday,, and teammate Chris Brazzell II highlighted King's efforts in talking through plays and holding teammates accountable in the locker room.On-Field Performance: During drills, King showed, for instance, in connecting with receiver Chris Brazzell II in the end zone, demonstrating a good feel for his weapons.Draft Status & Outlook: As an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Tech, King is in a competition to secure a roster spot, with his ability to study and lead in the film room, as well as his mobility, being key strengths as reported on.

That's great stuff to hear from the rookie.  That's how you make room for yourself on a roster.

Biggest thing that snaps out at me with Chris Brazzell, everyone says speed, but to me it’s his hands. His hands are sticky, his film shows up him catching poorly placed balls and catching in traffic. This is a guy to watch, I hope he translate. I like XL, but his hands are sketchy.
