Paradis is out for the rest of the season, but Erving might be back.

Panthers place two starting linemen on injured reserve

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers put a pair of starting offensive linemen on injured reserve Monday, and waived two more players in a busy day of transactions.

The team placed left tackle Cameron Erving and center Matt Paradis on injured reserve.

Erving suffered a calf injury in Sunday's loss to the Patriots, while Paradis tore his ACL and will be out for the year.

The Panthers also waived running back Royce Freeman and linebacker Clay Johnston.

Freeman filled in while Christian McCaffrey was on IR, while Johnston has contributed mostly on special teams.

The Panthers also signed punter Lachlan Edwards to the active roster. He has been promoted from the practice squad each of the last two weeks, while Joseph Charlton has recovered from a back injury. With Charlton not ready to return, they needed to make a move since players can only be promoted from the practice squad twice in a year.

The Panthers also placed practice squad wide receiver Aaron Parker on the practice squad/injured list.

The moves leave the 53-man roster at 50, giving them flexibility for the coming week. They also have a couple of spots open on the practice squad now.
