I'm hoping for a trade as well. I suspect there will be some trading early. Maybe it will be us.!!  YAY.!!

I would like us to trade down to around #20 or so. Probably pick up at least three picks...Maybe a 2nd and a 3rd plus one or two more.  Even if we don't sign a Tackle in Free Agency, I'm good with it as long as we pick up say three picks for trading back (and NOT 6th or 7th RD picks either..!!!).  There will be a "lot of meat left on the bone" in second, third, fourth rounds.

I don't think Willis will last too far down. Everyone starts going QB crazy....  Once the very FIRST QB is selected, there will be a run on the top QBs. I expect at least three to go in the 1st Rd. Probably WAY too early (IMNSHO).

Hear ya. I’d love a lt in the draft, if Willis is plucked to early I could see an edge(+260 lbs) as a target. Also could see bc as a lt. They don’t wanna do it, but what’s it hurt if we don’t get one? Still at 6, a lt. Who th knows! Fun!

Yeah.... If we don't trade back--stay at #6, then the world is our oyster. We can take just about anything we want, for one pick in the top 100. Then we sit around till day three and round four before we pick again. I think that would be counter-productive for the Panthers.  I REALLY, REALLY hope we come up with a couple of day two picks (rounds 2 & 3).

***SOMETHING INTERESTING***

JIC you missed it.... Interesting commentary on Malik Willis' Pro-Day.  It was probably OK as far as teams represented...PROBABLY.?? But the one interesting thing noted by NFL Mock Draft Live was that there were only TWO Head Coaches present at the Pro-Day. Those two Head Coaches were.... Drum Roll please... Pittsburg's Mike Tomlin & Carolina's Matt Rhule.

What exactly does that mean.??  I have NO idea.  Just thought it MIGHT mean something. Anyway, I thought it was interesting that only two head coaches showed up. The commentators were saying that Willis would probably draft in the 1st round somewhere. But the consensus seemed to think it would be at the bottom of the 1st.

Here's the link to the video commentary: "Mock Draft Live" Assessing Malik Willis

Well, what that exactly means, we don't know.  But I do know they cared enough to go to Matt Corral's pro day today, only three teams attended:

https://www.nfl.com/news/2022-nfl-draft-...e-pro-days

3) A familiar, quarterback-needy contingency showed up in Oxford, Mississippi. GM-HC duos from Carolina (Scott Fitterer, Matt Rhule), Pittsburgh (Kevin Colbert, Mike Tomlin) and Atlanta (Terry Fontenot, Arthur Smith) were in attendance for Ole Miss' pro day, per NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe. Rhule was front and center, taking a close look at Corral throughout his workout, while Tomlin took some time to chat with Corral prior to his workout.

It looks like Rhule visited all three of the Pro Days this week. I know he was at Pickett's, Willis',and Corral's. I don't know if there are any more this week or not.

If I am not mistaken, Matt Rhule is the only head coach to attend all three's Pro Days.

And by the way, Matt Corral, according to all reports, really raised his stock value this week at his Pro Day. I watched a few videos of him throwing and the dude can make ALL the throws and makes it look easy.

Ah, and for the record, the Panthers did NOT attend QB Desmond RIdder's Pro Day today.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/pan...d=msedgntp

Following showcases for Pittsburgh’s Kenny Pickett on Monday, Liberty’s Malik Willis on Tuesday and Ole Miss’ Matt Corral on Wednesday—the Cincinnati Bearcats had Desmond Ridder on display for the league this afternoon. But the Panthers’ two biggest guns, general manager Scott Fitterer and head coach Matt Rhule, weren’t among the live spectators.

According to Reese’s Senior Bowl executive Jim Nagy, Carolina sent a trio of non-Fitterer/non-Rhule representatives—vice president of player personnel Pat Stewart, senior personnel executive Jeff Morrow and scout Joel Patten.

It’s also worth noting the team likely had feelers on cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner. Although the cornerback position isn’t the highest of priorities at the moment, Gardner could be in play for the Panthers’ No. 6 overall pick given that he’s formed straight from the defensive mold of what Fitterer helped build in Seattle.
