He was seeking a $20 Million per year contract.  No dice.

Then he turned down $17 Million from the Dolphins and $18.5 Million from the Seahawks.

Now, he has lowered his "asking price" to $17 Million.

The Seahawks say there is "slim to none" on the chance they try to bring him back, and that they have moved on to plan B, C, and D.

So have the Dolphins.

Wonder if things come to push and shove if we could sign him to a one year deal for a bargain price?

As a Gamecocks fan, I was stoked to see him drafted into the NFL.  But, I have since been underwhelmed.  He is a rare talent when he can stay healthy.

But, here he could get all of the playing time he wants and potentially up his value over the next season or two.

Personally, although a fan, I still think he is being a bit of a Deva and has been drinking his own cool-aid.

Another Prima Donna..... And y'all know what I think about Prima Donnas.......

This is a perfect example of the type of player we DON'T want (IMHO...). The verdict is still out on Clowney at this point, but he's going to have to settle-in somewhere and really UP his production and learn to shut his mouth. On the field is where the contract is EARNED. "Those who can 'play', PLAY. Those who can't. talk about it."

Understand, I'm not saying that he can't play.. He definitely can.
But football is a TEAM game.

Agreed on him being a bit egotistical.  And, for the Seahawks not being interested (at any price) in bringing him back after they offered and he turned them down speaks volumes to me.  Maybe he will be humbled during all this and learn some valuable life lessons at least.

Agreed...  Altogether too many players with a highly exaggerated sense of self-worth.

Humility is a medicine best taken frequently and in small doses.  Maybe this will initiate a "learning curve" for him.....

Hard pass on Clowney. He has never lived up to his draft status. Is he productive? Yes, but not to what his billing was or what he thinks his market is still worth.
There's always next year....
