I don’t think so. Not even time time for a new head coach and a new gm to work the scouts to make such a trade. I guess a really slim chance for someone on their former squads but again I don’t see it happening. Trading of picks is about all I can see but only we we are coming out ahead in the value of the picks being moved.

I agree...

But I could see us accepting a trade offer from a team for something like: A team (unknown who.??) offers us a solid RB plus #50- something for our #39. Or maybe they offer an underperforming WR or CB or LB who has 'good bones' and solid up-side and is two years into his rookie contract, plus #46,  for our #39.  It might be hard to turn down a solid player if Canales was convinced he just needed a change of venue..???

Because of the position at the top of the 2nd, anyone that wants to move up there has to be ready to give up something. It will not be an even-up trade value-wise. It has to be to our advantage, or why do it.??

I probably won’t even watch the draft. I have already completed my mock and it looks accurate to me… well accurate until Friday… maybe.

I am sure we will not draft one of the 5 future pro bowl QB’s of which a couple or three if they stay healthy might be in the hall of fame after I die. And lastly, whoever gets Drake May wins the draft hands down.

I'm not completely convinced we take anyone at #33.  I'm looking for a trade back somewhere.  #33 might be that spot .......

Everything depends on how the 1st round shakes out. --- ¿Quien sabe?  I'll take a swing at it tomorrow night after the 1st round.!!

I'm guessing Ladd McConkey WR Georgia.

I believe in the NFL Smoke Screens prior to the draft. Where the teams imply they are going one direction only to pick someone else.

McConkey is a good possession receiver and runs good routes . Downside is they say he could be injury prone.. We don't need that .

At this point I predict that we do not trade up.

More later....lol

OKAY.... It's finally here. 2024 NFL Draft opening day..  About eight hours until the 'action' kicks off.

I have my paperwork in hand. I have my "consensus" Big Board written down out to about #275, which SHOULD be far enough. But... some of them will undoubtedly not be drafted and some others may sneak their way in, sometime in the later rounds. Nothing's perfect.!!

I also have a draft board, position by position, that reflects the Big Board overall, except you can isolate on a specific position group. I didn't select all of the position groups, just the ones I figured were the most 'in play' for the Panthers. Ones like WRs, CBs, TEs, LBs, IOLs, EDGEs, OTs, RBs ..... You know, just the main ones for the Panthers need. I also have the QB list. Not because we need one (although...??), but because the QBs will probably impact greatly on what happens at the top of the 2nd.

So, I'll track the 1st round -- just for fun, ya understand. THEN -- I'll try to make sense of what (WHO.?) is left to strategize about for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

And I'll probably get every last one of them --- WRONG.!!

Oooh.... LP sneaks in with a prediction. Getting in on the ground floor. And an almost 'guaranteed'  prediction at that. LOLOLOL...

You're kinda sneaky, girl. Love what you did there.!!   Harrumph, harrumph -- You beat me to it.!!

I think someone unexpected will fall to the 2nd round and the Panthers get an unexpected gift.  Thus the pick is someone that has not been predicted.
