Yep...it is a great story,,,,we hope. There is history:
Tony Gonzalez (Cal), Antonio Gates (Kent State), Jimmy Graham (Miami) and Mo Alie-Cox (VCU) all became receiving tight ends after playing hoops in college, with Gonzalez and Gates both becoming Hall of Famers. Gates and Alie-Cox — like Granger — did not play college football.

He looks great in shorts. Great hands, big, can jump for the ball (Cam could have used that) seems agile, can make quick cuts on a dime. Looks a heck of a lot faster than Greg.....lol.
Can imagine him on plays in the redzone...throw the ball up high where no one else can get it...Colin can snatch it. In the beginning Canales should tell him it's a rebound.
From the video. He is obviously tough.
Questions...how does he look in pads? Can he take NFL hits? How quickly can he learn all the NFL stuff? (Greg said the TE needs to understand what everyone on the fields assignments are on every play. Remember..he often corrected and helped Cam with play calls).
As to the last point:
“Right away he bought in and was the kind of guy you didn’t have to tell something twice,” Fant said. “Once you were able to show it to him, he took it and learned from it right away and got better.”
IMO signing him is a no brainer. Worst-case he is a camp body. Best case...Dan found a diamond in the rough.
