FIRST O-LINE CASUALTY - ICKY EKWONU UNDER THE KNIFE

The first casualty for a "starter" for the Panthers has happened. While details are skimpy, LT Ekwonu has undergone surgery (Appendectomy). I assume it was arthroscopic  laparoscopic (NOT an open surgery..). The Panthers claim they expect (sort of..?) that he could be ready for the opener. I seriously doubt it - because BIG guys always take longer to heal. He'll be moving around, but even relatively small incisions are painful, especially when they penetrate into the body cavity and the overlaying muscles need to repair. I would say probably week three - although I know nothing about it really.
