I expect to him more on special teams than anything else. If he even makes the Final Cut, which I highly doubt.

Actually it is very common for the big guys, reserves that is, to play on special teams. Even the defensive guys will serve on the line for extra points and field goal and not to mention kickoffs, kicking and receiving. I actually never paid any attention until I started going to nfl games… rather common. Check it out. Just the boring position though, not like gunners or returners etc.
Had to laugh a little about your comment about Dorn. Yes, thank goodness he wasn't one of the "chosen" 53. Our 'rosters' are still intact.!!!
I watch these 90 roster changes with a little trepidation, but honestly with very little interest. It's SO early in the process and a big bunch of these guys will never see the end of training camp much less the final roster or regular season game play. I know the intent is always to make the roster better. Still, UDFAs that have bounced around four, five or six teams over two or three years time...... Lets just keep it real and say, their chances of seeing the 53 roster are pretty slim.
Anyway, short of a string of injuries (and there WILL be some..), most of the final 53 roster is pretty much settled after the draft. Generally if a player is a 1st thru 5th round selection, they will land on the 53, at least for a year or two. Then known returning vets and respected free-agent pick-ups add to the 53 total. Injuries subtract a few, and a few FA losses leave a few spots to be filled. So, if you are one of the "camp bodies" hoping to make the roster, you better 'let the dog loose'.!! You won't get a lot of "do-over" chances.
And "yes". what First said is definitely true. While 1st team (starter) players don't 'usually' see much ST work. Everyone else does....including the backup big guys. You have to have eleven guys on the field, so if you're not a specialist (kicker, punter, LS), a backup QB, or a 1st team starter or platoon player, then you will likely have a job to do on ST.
