The O-Line is supposed to make life easier on the quarterback, but the quarterback should do the same for the O-Line.
If an O-line can block and provide a quarterback 2 - 3 seconds, that's all a QB can ask for. After that, he's on his own.
If the QB gets the ball out QUICKLY (ala Andy Dalton), the O-Line doesn't get exhausted while a scared quarterback is back there playing pattycake with his feet.
A slow or indecisive quarterback can wear out an O-Line with a quickness. You can't block all day, no matter how big and ugly you might be.
