As I said I like Leonard. I really do. However, his draft stock is all over the place. I think this is largely because of the lack of a concerted effort by his "talent managers" (if he has anyone like that..?).
I watch five or six different draft boards, one of which is a "consensus" board. I like that one because it compiles information from multiple boards, mocks, and ... -- They claim they use 87 different Big Boards, 615 1st round Mocks, and 644 team based Mocks.....
Anyway here is some more information on Riley Leonard.
1) PFN was as listed previously by 007...
2) BR (Bleacher report) is only showing a top 150 right now. They have one QB listed in the Top 10. Cam Ward @ #6. Then they have Shadeur Sanders @ #16. Then Carson Beck @ #37. Followed by Jalen Milroe @ #42 and Riley Leonard @ #66...... This is an Overall listing of the Top 150 players in the draft. So that would put him bottom of the 2nd or top of the 3rd (depending on compensatory picks..).
3) ESPN has a pretty complete "Big Board". They have ten (10) QBs listed in the position rankings. Shadeur Sanders is #1 (by position) and Cam Ward is #2. Overall Sanders is #9 and Cam Ward is #18. Quinn Ewers is at #60, Carson Beck at 62 and Jason Milroe at 64. Followed by Dillon Gabriel - 119, Jaxson Dart - 180, Kurtis Rourke - 187, Kyle McCord - 197, and Tyler Shough at 199. That's it for the Top 200 players...
-- Riley Leonard is NOT listed...
4) Draftek has an inclusive Top 500 board. They have 19 QBs listed by position. Cam Ward is the #1 QB and is #5 Overall. Shedeur Sanders is #2 QB and #9 Overall. Quinn Ewers is #4 and #34 Overall. Will Howard (Ohio State) is #6 and #79 Overall. And Riley Leonard is #8 QB and #184 Overall. That would put him toward the bottom of the 6th round (depending on compensatory picks..)
5) 2025 Consensus Board -- They have Riley Leonard at #8 by position and at #167 Overall. That would put him toward the top of the 5th round.
It looks right now as if Riley Leonard is not a 1st or 2nd rounder for certain. Near as I can tell, Leonard is a really sharp guy. He was accepted into Duke and played there for a couple of years before transferring to Notre Dame.
So, there's that.....
